Renee Brunetti and his two daughters, Cecelia and Sofia threw out the first pitch at Saturday's home game versus Highland Community College.

Renee's father, Frank Brunetti, is the founder of the renowed "Italian Delight Restaurant".  Mr. Brunetti had migrated from Southern Italy to Brooklyn, New York in the early 1970's in search of the American Dream.  In 1976, Frank had an opportunity to come to Kansas City to see the Royals play his beloved Yankees in the American League Championship Series.  During that visit, Mr. Brunetti realized that Kansas City would be a wonderful place to raise a family, so he moved his family to Kansas City and opened "Italian Delight" in 1977.

"Italian Delight", located at 8145 State Avenue, serves classic Italian faire made from scratch along with New York style pizza by the slice.  A huge favorite of the Blue Devils players and coaching staff, the restaurant is open seven days a week and is co-owned and managed by Renee and his two sisters, Daniela and Sabrina.

The Kansas City Kansas Community College and The Blue Devil Baseball Program would like to thank the Brunettis for their continued support.
