KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Aysia Arrowood scored a team high 23 points for the Kansas City Kansas Community College women's basketball team, while Ikia Elam and Mercer Roberts also scored in double-figures but it was not enough as the Blue Devils fell 78-69 to North Central Missouri College Saturday afternoon.
The Blue Devils are now 8-3 overall on the season.
It was a battle back and forth in the first quarter as both teams scored 13 points apiece. North Central Missouri would gain some momentum in the second quarter, outscoring the Blue Devils 19-10 and taking a 32-23 lead at halftime.
KCKCC would come out of the locker room and put up 24 points in the third quarter and taking a small lead at 57-52. The Blue Devil defense tried to throw the Pirates off rhythm in the final quarter. However, North Central Missouri was able to outscore KCKCC again and wound up taking the victory.
The Blue Devils will continue their road trip on Tuesday when they play at Washburn University to take on the JV squad. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
