Whitcomb Named KJCCC Women's Basketball Division II Player of the Week

BALDWIN, Kan. - The Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference announced that Lacy Whitcomb has been named the Women's Basketball Division II Player of the Week.

Whitcomb put together her best week of the season as she scored a season-high 21 points against Fort Scott CC before turning in nearly a double-double to upset No. 1 ranked Johnson County CC on Saturday, giving the Cavaliers their first loss of the season. Whitcomb scored 18 points and had nine rebounds, to average 19.5 points and 5.0 rebounds for the week. She also shot 52.0 percent from the field and 46.6 percent beyond the arc.

Other nominees for the Player of the Week award were Hesston College's Loribeth Miller and Labette CC's Patricia Sosa Lora.

The Blue Devils are 12-9 overall and 4-4 in the KJCCC in a tie for fourth place in the standings.
