Buchanan Added To Women's Soccer Coaching Staff

KCKCC head soccer coach Jeremy Winzer today announced the addition of Cat Buchanan as the programs goalkeeper coach.

"I am ecstatic to have Cat join our staff at KCKCC," said Winzer. "It was very important for me to have someone who had extensive knowledge at the goalkeeping position and also shared the same passion for the sport as I do. I had the pleasure of seeing Cat play while she was a member of Division I Louisiana Tech University women's soccer team. She is a fierce competitor. I am confident that she will play a key role in helping this program reach new heights."

A native of Shawnee, Kansas, Buchanan played her prep soccer at Shawnee Mission Northwest High School lettering four years for head coach Todd Boren. Buchanan went on to play her collegiate career at Louisiana Tech University for head coach Kevin Sherry where she recorded 140 saves, 0.97 goals against average and 13 shut outs. Buchanan earned Academic All-WAC three consecutive years in a row.

Buchanan is a full-time teacher at Argentine middle school and currently resides in Kansas City, Kansas.
