RODNEY CHRISTENSEN
Rodney Christensen has served as the Head Athletic Trainer at Kansas City Kansas Community College since 1997 and is recognized as one of the leading athletic trainers in the Midwest. In his role, Christensen oversees the daily care, injury prevention, and rehabilitation of approximately 185 student-athletes annually. He holds both a Bachelor of Science (1995) and a Master of Science (1997) from the University of Kansas. A Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) through the National Athletic Trainers’ Association since 1995, he also holds credentials as a Performance Enhancement Specialist and Corrective Exercise Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
Since 2007, Christensen has been a certified Graston Technique Provider and holds multiple certifications in manual therapy and blood flow restriction training. He also serves as a clinical preceptor for the Master of Athletic Training programs at the University of Saint Mary, the University of Kansas, and Texas Tech University Masters of Athletic Training Programs. Prior to joining KCKCC, Christensen was the assistant athletic trainer at Baker University from 1995 to 1997, where he worked extensively with the baseball and men’s and women’s soccer programs.
A native of Atchison, Kansas, Rodney now resides in Shawnee.
