Inside Athletics

Charlie Martin began his role as the Sports Information Coordinator at Kansas City Kansas Community College in November 2023.

In his position, Martin serves as the primary media contact for the Blue Devils’ seven athletic programs. His responsibilities include managing KCKCC Athletics’ social media platforms, creating graphic design content, handling photography, writing news releases, and maintaining athletic statistics and historical records.

Prior to joining KCKCC, Martin graduated from the University of Central Missouri in May 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in Digital Media Production. During his time at UCM, he worked closely with the women’s soccer team, participated in a fraternity, and contributed to the university’s sports broadcast team. In the summer of 2023, Martin gained professional experience working with the broadcast teams for both the Kansas City Royals and the Kansas City Monarchs.

In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing disc golf, and listening to music.

Before attending UCM, Martin graduated from Shawnee Mission West High School in 2019, where he was actively involved in numerous extracurricular activities, including Student Council, the Freshman Mentor Program, Advanced Video Production, Photojournalism, National Honor Society, basketball, golf, and soccer. Soccer was his primary sport, serving as a two-year varsity captain and earning First Team All-Conference honors his senior year after recording eight goals and three assists.

Martin was born in Merriam, Kansas, and raised in the Lenexa/Shawnee area. He has two older sisters, Kathryn and Mallory, two brothers-in-law, Mike and Riley, and his parents, Kevin and Becky.
