Anywhere you look in the KCKCC record book you’ll find the name of Jurgita Kausaite. A native of Lithuania who followed in the footsteps of her twin sister, Aneta, who was also an All-American, Kausaite holds the Lady Blue Devil records for most points in a game (44), season (777) and career (1,517), high season (23.1) and career (22.3) scoring averages, highest field goal percentage for a single game (.929) and season (.633) and most rebounds in a season (393) and career (721). More important, she led Leslie Crane-coached teams to a 28-4 overall record and 15-1 Jayhawk Conference record as a freshman in 1995-96 and a fifth place finish in the NJCAA national tournament with a 35-2 record that included 31 straight wins in 1996-97.
