Men's Soccer Winless after Opening Weekend

The Kansas City Kansas Community College men's soccer team dropped both of their opening weekend games in Illinois. They fell 4-3 in a close match against Triton College before losing 3-1 to Harry S. Truman. In the KJCCC preseason poll, the Blue Devils were projected to finish tied for third with Allen and Pratt, behind Neosho and Johnson County.

In the first game, KCKCC built an early lead as they went into halftime, up 3-1. In the second half, Triton was able to put three in the back of the net to take the game. The Blue Devil goals came from Wyatt Osborn, Damon Walter and Lohan Poirer with one assist from Andres Tamayo. They outshot Triton nine to four but were unable to get the three points. Kleber Meneses Fabian played goalkeeper all 90 minutes and saw four shots but was unable to save a single shot.

In the second game, Harry S. Truman scored all three of their goals in the first half and KCKCC scored their only goal in the 67th minute. The goal was scored by Poirer, making it his second goal in two games. The lone assist came from Natan Masi, his first on the season. Meneses Fabian was in net and had six saves but let in three of nine shots on goal.

The next game for the Blue Devils men's soccer team is the home opener against the State Fair Community College Roadrunners at 5 p.m. Aug. 28 at the KCKCC Soccer Field.
