The No. 21 Kansas City Kansas Community College women's basketball team rolled past Metropolitan Community College with a dominant 78–38 win, stretching the lead to 40 points in the fourth quarter. The Blue Devils shot 43.5% from beyond the arc, knocked down 10 threes and held a 47–42 edge on the glass. MCC finished just 9-of-61 from the field.
The Blue Devils set the tone early, erupting for a 15-point lead after the first quarter. Yaslyn Gonzales sparked the offense with several early jumpers, including a three at the 7:33 mark, and KCKCC turned defensive pressure into points by forcing five turnovers. Three-point makes from Sandra Hracka and Elin Bjarnadottir pushed the margin to 21–6 heading into the break.
KCKCC continued its control in the second quarter, extending the lead behind efficient shooting and consistent defensive stops. Gonzales added another three to fuel a 33–6 advantage. MCC failed to convert a field goal in the quarter, relying solely on free throws for all 13 of its points, while the Blue Devils closed the half up 44–19.
The momentum carried through the third. Kylee West opened the scoring with a jumper at 9:30, followed by a three from Hracka that stretched the lead even further. Bjarnadottir, Kyara Bakker, and others continued to apply pressure as KCKCC pushed ahead 61–32 entering the fourth.
The Blue Devils sealed the win with another strong defensive quarter, holding MCC to just six points. Meg Revol drained a pair of threes, Alana Webb added two more from deep, and Gonzales scored again to maintain the 40-point cushion before closing out the 78–38 victory.
Gonzales finished with 16 points on 6-of-8 shooting, including two threes. Hracka added 10 points, seven rebounds, and two blocks, while Webb posted 10 points and six boards. Bakker contributed seven points, four assists, and two steals as KCKCC controlled the game from start to finish.
The next game for the Blue Devils is against John Wood Community College at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 15 at Breidenthal Court in the KCKCC Fieldhouse.
