The No.10 Kansas City Kansas Community College women's soccer team and Metropolitan Community College battled to a 1-1 draw on Wednesday in Lee's Summit. The Blue Devils struck first with a goal in the 19th minute, but MCC responded with an equalizer later in the first half. Both teams had opportunities to break the deadlock, with the Blue Devils recording 19 shots and Metropolitan managing 10; yet neither could secure the win.
Daya Lou Homey scored one goal from three shots for KCKCC, with two of them on target. Bayli Benson contributed an assist, playing a key role in the team's offensive efforts. Mallory McWillie, in goal, recorded four saves over 90 minutes while allowing just one goal. Kaitlyn Milford and Dani Willeford each took three shots, with one shot on goal, adding to the team's attacking pressure.
The Blue Devils will be back in action at 5 p.m. Sept. 7 when they host the Southeast Bobcats.
