The No.10 KCKCC women's soccer team defeated Central Community College-Columbus, 2-0 Sept.13 marking their third consecutive win. KCKCC took an early lead with two first-half goals and maintained a solid defense throughout the match. The offense peppered the opposing goal with 36 shots, 11 of which were on target compared to the three shots and three on target from the Raiders.
Dani Willeford, continuing her streak of scoring in every game this season, netting the game-winning goal and registering seven shots with two on target. Elissa Green also found the back of the net, finishing with five shots, one of which was on target. Green also scored a goal in each of the last three games. Goalkeeper Mallory McWillie recorded a shutout, making three saves. Bayli Benson contributed with four shots, two of which were on goal. Anya Anderson provided two assists, her first assists of theseason.
The next game for the Blue Devils is against the No. 20 Allen Community College Red Devils at 5 p.m. Sep. 17 at the KCKCC soccer field. There is also a Blue Devil tailgate that will be held before the soccer games and volleyball match from 4 to 6 p.m. at the KCKCC Fieldhouse for all KCKCC.
