No.10 Women’s Soccer Defends Home Field

The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's soccer team defeated the Neosho County Community College Panthers 2-0 Sept.24. The Blue Devils maintained control throughout the match, with one goal coming in each of the halves. The team's defense held strong, with the Blue Devil goalkeeper, Lena Wasow making seven saves to secure the shutout.

Bayli Benson opened the scoring in the first half and paced the Blue Devils with four shots, including three on goal, while also netting the game-winner. Lillian Chronister doubled the advantage with her first goal of the season, finishing a header off a corner from Daya Lou Homey in the 76th minute. Dani Willeford added an assist and registered four shots, two of them on target, to round out the balanced KCKCC attack.

The next game for the Blue Devils women's soccer team is against the Johnson County Community College Cavaliers at 5 p.m. Sept. 27 at the JCCC soccer field in Overland Park, Kan.
