Blue Devils Receive First Conference Loss

The No.10 Kansas City Kansas Community College women's soccer team fell to the No. 2 Johnson County Community College Cavaliers 2-0 Sept.27. The Cavaliers' offensive pressure was evident with 29 total shots, 18 on goal, while their defense limited KCKCC to just five shots on target. The Cavaliers scored both goals in the first half, securing the win despite the Blue Devils efforts to rally in the second half.

Mallory McWillie recorded 16 saves in the match, facing 18 shots in total. Dani Willeford contributed offensively with two shots, both on target. Lillian Chronister managed to place her only shot on goal. Daya Lou Homey also added a shot on goal, maintaining pressure on the opposing defense. With that loss, the Cavaliers are now the only team in the KJCCC that are undefeated in conference play. KCKCC is currently in second place with a conference record of 4-1.

The next game for the Blue Devils is against the Southeast Community College Bobcats at 1 p.m. Oct. 1 in Beatrice, Neb.
