Women’s Soccer Enters Postseason Play as No. 2 Seed

The No.12 Kansas City Kansas Community College women's soccer team fell to the No.1 Johnson County Community College Cavaliers 5-0 Oct.22. Despite nine shot attempts and three on goal, the Blue Devils were unable to find the back of the net. The Cavaliers capitalized on their 13 shots on goal, securing a decisive victory with five different players contributing to the scoreline.

Lena Wasow played the entire first half in net, making four saves on six shots faced. Mallory McWillie played in net the second half and tallied four saves during her 45 minutes of play, facing seven shots. Dani Willeford was active in the offensive half, recording two shots, both of which were on target. Lillian Chronister added an offensive push with one shot on goal.

The Blue Devils will host the No. 3 seeded Neosho County Community College Panthers for the first round of the 2025 NJCAA Women's Division 2 North Plains District Soccer Playoffs at 6 p.m. Oct. 29. The winner of the No. 2 and No. 3 matchup will take on the winner of No. 1 JCCC vs No. 4 Pratt/Allen for the North Plains District Championship.
