Weston Smith enters his first season with the Kansas City Kansas Community College men's basketball program in 2026 as an assistant coach under head coach Taylor Tucker.

Smith arrives at KCKCC after spending the 2025-26 season as an assistant coach at Northern State University and brings nearly a decade of collegiate coaching experience to the Blue Devils. Prior to Northern State, Smith spent seven seasons at Missouri Western State University, serving in a variety of roles including student assistant, graduate assistant and assistant coach while working under head coaches Brent Weiberg, Sundance Wicks and Will Martin.

During his time at Missouri Western, Smith helped develop seven All-MIAA performers and was part of the resurgence of the Griffon program into a conference contender. Missouri Western qualified for the NCAA Central Region Tournament in 2021, opened the 2023-24 season with seven consecutive victories — the program's best start since 1999 — climbed as high as No. 17 in the NABC Top 25 poll during the 2024-25 season and recorded its highest regular season win total in more than 20 years.

Smith earned both his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Master of Business Administration from Missouri Western State University. He and his wife, Maggie, reside in the Kansas City area.
