MANHATTAN, Kan. - The KCKCC men's golf team took fifth out of eight teams at the first KJCCC Tournament of the spring at Colbert Hills Golf Course on Monday. Carson Towey led the team with a ninth place finish and 9-over par.
Dodge City CC took home the tournament trophy with a 23-over par, while Hutchinson CC shot a 26-over par to take second.
Tommy O'Connor finished just outside of the top 20 individually with a three-way tie for 21st. O'Connor rebounded from an 83 first round score with a 78 to finish at 17-over par. Jack Tarvin and Jacob Hall ploaced 35th and 38th respectively. Tarvin scored a 28-over par and Hall shot a 30-over par.
Jason Krannawitter shot a 39-over par to finish in 44th.
Hutchinson CC's Ben Partridge was the individual champion with a 1-under par and total score of 143.
The Blue Devils are in action again on Saturday and Sunday in Newton, Kan. for the Bethel/Hesston Tournament at Sand Creek Golf Course.
