A Culture of Family
The foundation of Coach Ballou's program is built on family.
She believes that championship teams are built through trust, accountability, servant leadership, and genuine relationships. The culture within KCKCC Volleyball challenges student-athletes to compete at the highest level while fostering an environment where they feel supported, valued, and empowered to grow.
That same commitment to family extends beyond the gym. Mary and her husband, Austin, are proud parents to their three children: Bella (5), John (4), and Luca (22 months). Balancing motherhood and coaching has strengthened her perspective as a leader, reinforcing the importance of compassion, resilience, and creating meaningful relationships that last far beyond a player's time at KCKCC.
As the Blue Devils continue to compete among the nation's best, Coach Ballou remains committed to developing championship-caliber teams while preparing young women for success in every aspect of life. Under her leadership, KCKCC Volleyball has become more than a successful program, it has become a destination for student-athletes seeking excellence, opportunity, and a championship culture.
