Blue Devils Stay Hot in Iola

The Kansas City Kansas Community College baseball team enjoyed a successful doubleheader against Allen Community College on Saturday, securing victories of 13–6 and 11–5.

In the first game, the Blue Devil offense shone brightly with three home runs and four doubles, contributing to a total of 16 hits. Will Kennedy started on the mound, pitching 4.1 innings while allowing five earned runs on eight hits, walking two, and striking out five. Tyler Parr earned the win by striking out three batters in 1.2 innings, despite allowing two hits and hitting a batter. Sebastian Udland closed the game, pitching the final inning and giving up one earned run on two hits while striking out one.

Ian Woita led the offensive charge in the first game, scoring two runs and driving in three with a home run and a double. Lennox Vann made a significant contribution with two home runs and three RBIs, crossing the plate twice. Sawyer Tolk collected three hits, including a double, and scored twice, while Brady Kern recorded three RBIs with two hits.

In the second game, KCKCC continued their strong offensive performance, highlighted by four home runs that contributed to an 18-hit outing. Cohen Epler started on the mound, pitching 3.0 innings and allowing three hits and two earned runs, while striking out four and issuing a single walk. Carter Beach provided solid relief, contributing 2.0 innings with two hits given up, while Nick Martensen had an impressive performance in relief, pitching 4.0 innings, allowing three hits, hitting one batter, and striking out seven to earn the win and improve to a 2-1 record. Blake Neis struggled, failing to record an out while allowing three earned runs on one hit and two walks.

Tolk led the offense in the second game, scoring three runs and collecting three hits, including a home run. Woita contributed significantly with two hits and three RBIs, adding a home run to his tally as well. Brady Kern maintained his solid performance with three hits and an RBI, while Owen Musil made an impact by driving in three runs with a home run and a double. 

Up next, the Blue Devils will take on the North Central Missouri College Pirates at 1 p.m. April 14 in Trenton, Mo.
