The Kansas City Kansas Community College baseball team edged Metropolitan Community College 15–14 in a tightly contested matchup on Tuesday. The Blue Devils tallied 12 hits, including three home runs, and capitalized on four extra-base hits to secure the victory.
Kirby Super started for KCKCC, pitching 2.0 innings and allowing three earned runs on four hits with two walks. Lucas Clarke followed with 1.2 innings, conceding two earned runs on three hits, including two home runs, while striking out two. Cohen Epler pitched 1.0 inning and yielded two runs on four walks. Colton Kirkham and Sebastian Udland each allowed three and two earned runs respectively, over their single inning of work. Caden Howell closed with two innings, surrendering two earned runs on four hits, including a home run, while striking out four.
Brady Kern posted two hits, including a home run, while driving in three runs and scoring three times. Ian Woita recorded three hits and four RBIs, adding a home run to his performance. Lennox Vann contributed two hits, including a walk-off home run, and drove in two runs. Sawyer Tolk added a double and three RBIs in his appearance.
The Blue Devils will start their series against the Colby Trojans at 1 p.m. April 24 at the KCKCC Baseball Field.
