The No.3 Kansas City Kansas Community College baseball team defeated the No.14 Colby Community College Trojans on Thursday in the opening game of the best of three series. KCKCC tallied two home runs and three doubles, contributing to a decisive nine-run sixth inning.
Will Kennedy delivered a strong performance for the Blue Devils, pitching 5.2 innings while allowing two earned runs and striking out five batters. He conceded three hits, including one home run, and issued five walks, but managed to secure the win. Sebastian Udland provided relief, pitching 1.1 innings and allowing one earned run on two hits while walking one batter.
Sawyer Tolk contributed significantly by scoring two runs and driving in five, including a grand slam and a double. Lennox Vann also made an impact with three runs scored and four RBIs, thanks to a home run and a walk. Holden Finley added four runs and two hits, including a double, while also getting on base with a walk and a hit by pitch.
