Taylor Tucker was named head coach of the Kansas City Kansas Community College men’s basketball program in April of 2026, bringing with him a strong track record of success, player development, and championship experience.

Tucker arrives at KCKCC after five seasons at Des Moines Area Community College, where he served as associate head coach for the Bears. During his tenure, DMACC compiled an outstanding 145-29 record, posting an .833 winning percentage. Tucker played a key role in all aspects of the program, including recruiting, player development, scouting, and daily operations, while also helping guide the team through a coaching transition without missing a step.

Prior to his time at DMACC, Tucker spent two seasons at Northern State University. There, he helped lead the Wolves to back-to-back Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference championships. During the 2020-21 campaign, Northern State reached as high as No. 2 in the national rankings and advanced to the NCAA Division II Sweet Sixteen.

Tucker also gained experience as an assistant coach at Monmouth College, contributing to a conference championship season in 2017-18.

A native of Tyler, Texas, Tucker played collegiately at Olivet Nazarene University, where he helped lead the Tigers to two NAIA National Tournament appearances. He earned his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and physical education in 2016.

Known for his ability to build meaningful relationships and foster a culture of accountability, Tucker emphasizes recruiting the right people and developing student-athletes both on and off the court. He takes over the Blue Devils program with a vision to build upon its strong foundation and continue its upward trajectory.
