KCK SWEEPS NEOSHO AND CLINCHES FIRST ROUND HOME PLAYOFF GAME
KCK won both games against Neosho on Wednesday to secure a home playoff game on Saturday, April 26th where they will play the best out of 3, 2 games on Saturday and 1 on Sunday if needed.
In game one, the Blue Devils won 10-0. Leslie Ford pitched her third no hitter of the season to lead them to record of 29-13 on the season and 17-13 in Region play. Mierra Morrisette was 3-3 with a home run and knocking in 4 RBI's. Megan Dike also added a 2 run homerun. Lacey Santiago went 2-2 with one walk, Hanna Barnhart was 3-3 with a double, Ashley Heningtin was 2-3 with a double, while Justice Scales also went 2-3 in game one.
Game two was not as easy as game one with the Blue Devils down 3-0 in the 4th before they scored their first run on a bases loaded walk. Lacey Santiago hit a single to score Ashley Henington for the 2nd run of the game. In the 5th inning Ashley Henington hot a single to score Mierra Morrisette, who got on base with a single, and Megan Dike who walked to get on base. Leslie Ford also singled to score Ashley Henington. In the 6th inning Hannah Barnhart hit a grandslam to centerfield to put the Blue Devils ahead 9-3. Neosho scored two more runs int he top of the 7th to make it 9-5. Elizabeth Seimears started the gane giving up 5 hits and 2 runs. Leslie Ford came into the game in the bottom of the second and gave up only 6 hits and 3 runs for the game.
