The Kansas City Kansas Community College baseball team dominated their doubleheader against Labette Community College, securing victories of 24-0 and 29-3 on Saturday. The team showcased an impressive offensive performance, recording a total of 40 hits, including ten home runs, while the pitching staff combined for two shutouts with a total of 20 strikeouts across both games.
In the first game, Will Kennedy delivered a standout performance on the mound, pitching a complete game and securing a shutout. He allowed only three hits across 5.0 innings, striking out nine batters while issuing just one walk. Kennedy's efficient outing contributed to a WHIP of 0.80, highlighting his control and effectiveness in limiting baserunners. His efforts not only earned him the win but also maintained his impressive season record at 3-1.
Owen Musil led the offense in the first game with three RBIs and a home run. Lennox Vann also made an impact with three RBIs and a home run while scoring three runs. Nich Dawson added four RBIs and homered, further contributing to the team's commanding victory.
In the second game, Camden Brashear pitched 4.0 innings, allowing two earned runs on five hits while striking out seven batters and walking three. Carter Beach contributed with a scoreless inning, striking out one of the three batters he faced. Kamp Cunningham pitched one inning, giving up one earned run on one hit, with one strikeout and one walk. Caden Howell closed with a solid inning, striking out two batters and allowing just one hit.
Sawyer Tolk made significant contributions in the second game, scoring two runs and driving in four RBIs, including a home run, while also recording four assists in the field. Ian Woita led the offense with three hits and three runs scored. Owen Musil posted four hits and drove in four runs, adding a double to his performance. Trevor McGraw scored five runs and tallied four hits, contributing two RBIs and a home run to the team's effort.
