The Kansas City Kansas Community College baseball team had an impressive day at KCKCC Baseball Field, securing victories in both games of a doubleheader against Neosho County Community College. The Blue Devils first claimed a 7–5 win before following it up with a decisive 17-0 shutout.
In the first game, a six-run third inning highlighted KCKCC's performance, allowing them to maintain the lead throughout. Will Kennedy delivered a strong performance on the mound, pitching 5.0 innings with eight strikeouts while allowing five hits and three runs, two of which were earned. Despite issuing two walks and hitting three batters, Kennedy maintained a WHIP of 1.40, improving his season record to 4-1. Carter Beach provided relief, pitching 2.0 innings and striking out one, but allowed four hits, including a home run, and two earned runs, resulting in a WHIP of 2.00.
Lennox Vann led the offense with a home run and three RBIs, contributing significantly to the team's scoring. Owen Musil added to the offensive performance with two hits, including a double, and drove in one run. Holden Finley reached base multiple times, scoring twice and stealing one base, showcasing his ability to impact the game on the base paths.
In the second game, KCKCC dominated with a shutout performance, accumulating 19 hits, including four doubles and two home runs. Camden Brashear delivered a stellar performance, pitching 5.0 innings without allowing an earned run while striking out five and walking two. He managed to keep the Panthers at bay despite allowing seven hits, maintaining a solid WHIP of 1.80 and improving his win-loss record to 2-2. In relief, Cohen Epler contributed 1.0 inning with one strikeout and a WHIP of 1.00, though he hit two batters and walked one. Trey Weixeldorfer pitched 1.0 inning, allowing one hit and one walk, resulting in a WHIP of 2.00, providing effective support in the bullpen.
Brady Kern recorded three hits, including a home run, and drove in three runs to lead the offensive charge in the second game. Ian Woita contributed with a home run of his own and tallied two RBIs. Sawyer Tolk added two doubles and scored twice, enhancing the team's overall performance.
